March 2021 Plot - "Role Reversal" AU

Name: Ringu Bakura
Age: 17-ish
Occupation: Delinquent, Small-Time Public Menace

Ringu grew up in Bavan, more on the streets than off. His home-life kinda sucked. He doesn't remember more than "clearly I noped out forever" and passes off his lack of memory as simply not wanting to talk about it. At some point (he does not remember when exactly) he was semi-adopted by a trio of monsters. They treated him well and took care of him as best they could - he was already an absolute gremlin, and the main difficulty in trying to adopt him. He nevertheless was quite fond of them, and took it very badly when they were killed. He is very anti-Monster Hunter as a result.

He stays in touch with his cousin Ryou Bakura, often showing up unannounced at Ryou's workplace to be a pest. Ryou's side of the family having been killed by monsters, their views on monsters are a source of conflict. At the end of the day though, they're still family. (And where are Ringu's parent(s)?? He doesn't know, he doesn't care, it's not his problem.)

Ringu currently leads a gang of other teenaged punks, but he refuses to admit to this: he insists that he's simply bullying them, and is otherwise unaffiliated. He bullies them on a near-daily basis. They have also been drafted into his lifelong dumpster rivalry(??? Ringu, why) with some other feral weirdo. Totally not Ringu's gang though. The gang has learned not to try arguing with him on this point.

He dropped out of high school early on, but then met Adam Usir at Ryou's workshop, ending up with both a friend and a new love of gaming. Mostly cards, but also nerdier games that his usual associates were not about. Ringu has recently "infiltrated" the high school in search of nerds to play the games with. So far at least one teacher has noticed this, but merely takes the opportunity to trick Ringu into doing some actual schoolwork.
