[He does startle Ryou when he speaks, so it was probably for the best that he kept a bit of a distance. The shade's tail flies upward in alarm, but he quickly lets it go limp to curl around his feet.]

It's another--I mean, it doesn't work or anything, but it's still...um...

[Ryou swallows hard as he faces the Ring-Spirit fully. His posture is so stiff that he could swear he's died and gone into rigor mortis. How...how is he going to do this?

It takes him too long, too many long moments, before he moves his hand up and after a bit more hesitation...pushes aside his hair.

That sure is the Millennium Eye.]

[ The Ring-Spirit just stands there, listening to and watching all this with increasing confusion, head beginning to tilt more and more sideways, right up until the dramatic reveal that makes him jump back with a startled yell. ]

GAH! Ryou, what the fuck!

[ WHY IS THAT THERE??

Kul Elna makes a noise of mild curiosity and floats closer to investigate. ]

[He just about screams it while he flattens his hair back down, and not very well at that. The Eye still peeks out through the strands. Leave him alone, he's distressed!!]

I overpaid Mana by accident and she shoved this into my eye socket!

[ Don't mind him he's just having a minor belated heart attack about the exceptionally vague request he'd handed off to her just recently.

[All this frantic energy's giving him a headache--the Eye is new, and the application isn't fully healed yet.]

Ugh, it's not as if I can just take it out, not without more than a little trouble. My eye's already lost, I doubt it'll heal again now that this one is in there.

[ It takes some focusing on his breathing for the Ring-Spirit to calm back down. He winces when Ryou mentions the possibility of taking it out though and replies automatically. ]

[That's so far from the correct thing to say that Ryou's face very obviously contorts in disgust. No seriously, he actually feels ill thinking about how this Eye had gotten out of its last owner's head. Of course he can't remember, but he doesn't need to with the kind of imagination he has.

Ryou shudders, then turns completely away so that the Ring-Spirit doesn't have to see his visceral reaction to that.

[ The Ring-Spirit just winces again, harder, and huddles into his wings with a grimace. The fuck's he supposed to say now that wouldn't just make it worse??

Kul Elna makes a questioning noise. They don't get the problem. ]

Ryou eventually gets control of himself, but not before...uh, looking as if he'd just hemorrhaged his own guts on the lawn. This is the consequence of being a blood-feeder again, and having had a fair amount before calling the Ring-Spirit in the first place.

He's fine. It's fine...and after a quick wipe of his lips on his sleeve, which he is definitely changing very soon...Ryou finally returns his attention to the Ring-Spirit. He's a little ashen, but slightly more composed.]

[Kul Elna gets a pass. They're just here, doing their best.]

[ The Ring-Spirit's just kinda stood here awkwardly, staring at his feet, the whole time. ]

Kul Elna remains perplexed, drifting slowly back and forth between them as they make a soft wooing noise. ]

[Ryou understands that his spirit's not entirely great at being "normal" or apologizing, so he just sighs and nods.]

Would you like to come inside? Better than being out here, what with the mess, and I can get you a drink. [Quietly, he adds:] And get me a drink...

[He hopes Atem doesn't see it and freak out later. But, if he does, Ryou has an explanation. Easy as that.]
