Bricks, stones, and the like remained standing in some places, but most wood had rotted through. I'm not familiar enough with Ryslig's history to date the area from the architecture, but it seemed basic.
[ She sighs. ] The Fog was abnormal, as well. That might have sped the deterioration.

Huh. More than I expected - I'd thought we were talking some abandoned homestead, not a whole town. How small of a "small town"? "One road" small or "mainly suburbs" small?

[ She almost climbs the wall to start weaving a map where said wall meets the ceiling, but that seems....impractical. So instead, she describes for him, in concise yet exacting terms, the layout and condition of the ruins the monsters of Ryslig discovered in the wilderness.
Saint-Germain is (unknowingly) useless in most social situations, but making reports? She's been doing that for centuries. ]

Triffany Lottablog identified two amulets I found as symbols of the Day and Night Gods. If they'd possessed any power, it'd long since been drained.

For anything that might be related to that squiggle-god. You remember the one I spoke of? And for any references to the Sea of Stars... nobody has much to say about it now, but they might have known more in the past, or simply spoken more freely about it.

...For that matter, I wonder if the Fog's always made her monsters from outsiders, or if she ever used to turn local humans...

Disappointing... But you make a good point as well. Ryslig is just one part of what was once an entire continent, I'm sure the wastelands have more than one set of ruins.

Mm, any ideas on how to deal with the corrupted fog? How much do you think we could get done before killing each other?

[ If anybody came along who wasn't, they'd need to hunt.....and hunt frequently. Yet this also produces a meat supply for said flesh eaters. It's a trade-off, and one whose advantages and challenges Saint-Germain has yet to fully assess.

Do you have connections with anyone in Haftesal? As a Fog-follower, I'm quite certain they won't let me enter the city.

The wild monsters, they'll certainly present an issue... How intelligent, how capable of planning, were they still? Could you tell? I'd heard they were both crazed and... corrupted in some way; but I didn't get much detail. It'd help to know whether we'll be dealing with crafty strategists or simple berserkers.

I experimented. They're nonverbal, and intelligence varies by creature. Think of them as monsters who are constantly in a frenzy state - violent and insatiable.

Hm. You could use your webbing to set up a perimeter, if we find a good location to examine closely or we need to make camp. We also should check Spengler's for monster weaknesses. Equip ourselves to fight a variety of monsters at least long enough to escape. Silver, iron, salt - that kind of thing.
