[With care -- not because he thinks the Ring-Spirit is delicate or can't take it, but because Atem doesn't want to carelessly do harm -- Atem unlocks his jaw, pulls back, away from the warmth, the current that, to him, is life. It takes effort: monsters aren't supposed to stop feeding, once they start. But it's possible to stop when his target is a monster, not a human, and easier still when it's a monster he cares for.
He gets up -- not to break his promise, but to get something from a bathroom to clean and bandage the bite. He's back in a blink.
And then, once the wound is seen to, Atem will settle in beside him to play games in his head, lulled to a doze by the heartbeat beside him. He does his best to forget, for now, why he's here, why the Ring-Spirit needed that bite -- no. He's here to watch over his friend, his opposite number, the other-king, his brother. That's what they are -- even if he didn't say so, this time, that's what they'll be, in his mind.
He dozes lightly beside his sen-brother, letting his senses spiral out, listening for movement, footsteps, a heartbeat that doesn't belong. Things will be peaceful here, at least for a while. Atem will ensure it.]
